In Fact KI - as we locals like to call it, is Australia’s 3rd largest island – behind Tasmania and Melville Island. (NT) The island boasts an array of wildlife – found nowhere else on the planet, pristine beaches, Lithium Sunsets and the most delicious food and wine - of course. Your photography tour to Kangaroo Island has award-winning photographer, Danny Blackman from Taradale Studios, who will guide your every request – mostly one on one during the day! Whether your preference is digital or film, panorama or all of the above, you can capture spectacular images of local flora, fauna, pristine beaches, In Flinders Chase - Admirals Arch and the Remarkable Rocks, and then there’s Seal Bay and Hanson Bay. Did we mention wine?

From Adelaide to Kangaroo Island, South Australia and return

  

Tour Includes: 

  • Pick up and return from Adelaide CBD/Glenelg (Airport only if timetables connect)
  • All transport in comfortable air-conditioned Mini Bus/Coach
  • Small-personalised groups only – from 4 to 8 persons
  • Ferry Crossing from Cape Jervis (mainland) to Penneshaw (KI) and return
  • All Breakfasts, Lunch & Dinners
  • All park entrance fees
  • Night photography of Milky Way, Southern Cross - weather permitting 
  • Workshops at night (we use Photo Shop on a Mac Pro laptop)
  • Accommodation; 2 nights (twin share)

 

Be guided with expert photographic tuition – one on one mostly during the day and group at night, from award winning photographer Danny Blackman over 25 years experience! Experience nightly workshops and postproduction with sociable and group critiquing sessions. Some astronomical photography with the Southern Hemisphere highlights (Milky Way, Southern Cross, Large Cloud of Magellan...) also included - Weather permitting.

Battery charger or additional batteries – or both

Laptop to download your images from your day’s shoot, or external hard drive (Optional)

Tripod and cable release

Personal Items; All medication, warm jacket, Hat, sunscreen, insect repellent and comfortable sturdy walking shoes/boots, money for personal items

Small Backpack or suitcase only, as there is limited space in the covered trailer for luggage

Please note there will be additional cameras and various lenses for you to use as well as tripods

 

Skill Level Required:

Anyone with a passion/interest in photography, travel or history is welcomed. Professional photographers, avid amateurs, weekend warriors and shooters of all persuasions join us. Plenty of ‘one on one’ tuition is available at all our locations to help you achieve stunning images. Danny will coach you from your ‘comfort zone’ - encouraging you to try new and varied camera techniques that might include different ISO, shutter speeds and apertures, Panorama - stitch, fill flash, various angles, and compositional possibilities - some  “in camera”!

 

Fitness Level Required:

Moderate. Some walking is required at various locations.
